The {snowy} Oregon Trail

Kelly and I had a nice little working getaway this weekend.
It was our first time leaving the girls behind, and that was hard!
I'm glad to say it worked out just fine.
The girls had the time of their lives with Gram,
and we loved having a few days to ourselves.

We arrived in Portland, Oregon on Friday--
filmed and photographed a beautiful wedding on Saturday,
and drove home on Sunday.

It was a bit of a whirlwind trip--
but so much FUN!!

The drive to Oregon is incredibly beautiful--
although we hit a big time snowstorm on our way up.
I was right in the thick of reading the Hunger Games out loud,
when I looked to see we were heading up a windy canyon
with snow blowing furiously in all directions.
Kel drove slow and steady, but didn't mention the storm,
as driving in snow is on my list of things that I am not okay with...

luckily I was completely engulfed in the woes of Katniss Everdeen.
It at least got us to La Grande, where we decided to stop for the night.
We stayed at the cozy La Grande Inn, and got a good night sleep.
We had planned on driving straight through to Portland--
but it was nice to break up the trip, and by 9am the next morning,
the weather had calmed down and we were on our way.

More to come on the rest of the trip,
and especially the beautiful wedding day of Josh and Jasmine.

Here's a little preview :)
