Meet Nelson

Nelson is our family's special elf.
The girls were intrigued by the story of Santa's little helper--
who would be sneaking around our house for the next few weeks.
Pearl had a few too many questions about just how Nelson
would be able to get to the North Pole and back every night...
afraid of what he might be relaying to Santa Claus.
They got to hold him while he was still in the box, as to not take away his magic.
It has been a great to be able to persuade a stubborn child into listening,
by telling them "Nelson is watching..."
Pearl is so excited to find his new hiding spot every morning.
We were happy to find he'd made his way onto the ledge of our piano.

Pearl liked that he was somewhere that she could get up nice and close--
but not too close, because she knows better than that.
She pounded the keys to the rhythm of jingle bells, and sang right to him.

This has got to be one of my favorite pictures ever.
 Welcome to the family Nelson.
