New life of Spring

On Sunday I took Pearl out to my cousin's farm.
Aunt JaNae had our whole extended family over for dinner.
Violet was moody and tired, so Kel stayed home to get her to bed.
Pearl was a bit uneasy around the chickens
after a big white hen flew off of her perch--
wings flapping and beak clucking all the way down.

My cousin Ty was completing his nightly rabbit feeding chores,
so we tagged along.
He loves animals, and takes great care of them.
He told us about how Uncle Sunnie found out
"the hard way" that one of the bunnies was a biter...
Ty let Cowboy Luke and Pearly girl pet a rabbit.
Luke is the cutest cowboy in the world.
The whole world.
Apparently this here bunny refuses to breed.
She's had two chances, and she's not having any of it.

We saved the lambs for last.
This Mom was so sweet with her brand new baby.
She stomped her foot at me in protectiveness--
but with her baby, she was sweet.

In a little red barn smack dab in the middle of the farm,
you'll find the "bummer lambs."
Their Mom's either died after the delivery,
or had three babies--
when they can only care for two.
They bring the little orphan lambs together,
 and they are bottle fed,
and nestle in under warming lamps.
Without a Mom nudging them to keep their distance--
they are very friendly.

Pearl was really worried about them, telling me:
"They can't be alone! They have to have Moms--
Where are their Moms?"
She loved them, and they loved her.
I love this video clip.

Pearl's laugh is so cute and contagious. How sweet that she was worried about the lambs not having their Mommies.

Pearl is just a little "mother" herself concerned with where those lamb's mommy was!

Spring is finally here, hurrah!
