Graycliff Lodge

Let's take a drive up the Ogden Canyon.
We'll wind around the mountains curves until we come upon
The Graycliff Lodge.
Fittingly named, as it's nestled in the side of the gray-faced mountains.
Here we will find a charming
craftsman style house, turned restaurant.

Come on in!
We're here to celebrate Grandpa's birthday.
He's real birthday was in April--
which is a busy month in the lambing business.
His motto is: birthdays can wait-- laboring sheep can't.

He loves the Graycliff Lodge because they serve
American grown lamb chops-- he can tell the difference.
The Graycliff Lodge loves him because
he brings his posterity, and we fill the place to the brim.
 They treat him like gold,
and call him the "guest of honor."
(baby Sammy wears Grandpa's birthday hat.)

Violet enjoyed her first meal at the homey Graycliff Lodge.
She filled up on their delicious cinnamon rolls,
her Dad's prime rib, my mashed potatoes,
and every last bite of her kid size ice cream sundae.

Pearl examined the cherry on her sundae,
took a swig of chocolate milk--
then spent the rest of the night playing with her cousins.
It's an event we look forward to every year.

We better get back down the mountain before it gets too dark.
Don't forget to look around before we go...

Happy 85th birthday Grandpa!
You are one, loved cowboy.
 Yippie-o-kye-aye!
