Big baby, little swing.

Pearl loved her swing as a baby.
Her swing, and rides in the car were our
go-to soothing techniques that always worked.
We made sure to have the swing out, cleaned,
and ready for Violet's arrival.

She put up with it for the first week of her life,
when she was too tired to have a say over anything.
But when that week was over,
she screamed the second we laid her in it,
until we took her out.

So there it sat.
Alone and empty in the corner of our room.
Taking up space, and making everyone feel sorry for it.

After 9 lonely months--
I moved it close to the door,
and asked Kelly to put it in the crawl space.

You must believe me when I tell you...
that swing looked at me with the saddest of eyes--

So I put Violet in for one final spin.

She loved it.
It lulled her right to sleep.
So you see, this story has a happy ending.
Baby and swing are now bff's,
and making up for 9 months of lost time.
I'm not sure how much longer she'll fit,
but don't worry little swing--
you ain't goin' nowhere.
